With its 1200 inhabitants it is the largest municipality of the 20 existing in the \u201cOltre la Goggia\u201d area (ancient name of the upper part of the valley). Not to be missed is the imposing Gothic-style Church, which stands out against the surrounding mountains. A simple walk leads us to discover the ancient part of the town, which in the past was crossed by <em>Via Priula<\/em> (and Via Mercatorum) and the little shops in the center.<\/p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/en\/tema\/the-heart-of-the-valley\/dsc_0780-2-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14452\"><img class=\"wp-image-14452 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC_0780.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"429\" height=\"286\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/en\/tema\/the-heart-of-the-valley\/dsc_0782-2-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14454\"><img class=\"wp-image-14454 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC_0782.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"427\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p class=\"p1\">The trip continues to <strong>Olmo al Brembo<\/strong>, which welcomes us with the <em>Santuario dei Campelli<\/em>, a small church on the banks of the Brembo river. The village was the ancient crossroads of historic roads, with bridges and arcades. A few steps away, behind the ancient arcaded road, we can reach the ruins of an ancient watchtower, and then continue to Redivo, where the Bottagisi house is located, with its characteristic rural architecture from the Venetian era.<\/p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/en\/?attachment_id=14103\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14103\"><img class=\"wp-image-14103 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/DSC_0923.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"386\" height=\"288\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/en\/2-averara_5-2\/\"><img class=\"wp-image-14274 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/2.Averara_5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"439\" height=\"293\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p class=\"p1\">Returning to the village, we make a detour to take a look at the <em>Ancient Venetian Customs House<\/em>\u00a0(Antica Dogana Veneta) and go down to the church, in whose arcade we can see the \"Torre della Sapienza\". Here you can 'get lost' in the narrow streets of the ancient rural village, with its full of charm views. Ornica is home to the Albergo diffuso of the \"Donne di Montagna\" Cooperative which also manages the information office. In Ornica it is worth visiting the parish church where, upon request, you can admire the vault of the sacristy frescoed by Angelo Baschenis, and a walk to the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Frassino, at the bottom part of the Val d'Inferno, to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.<\/p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/en\/6ornica_1jpg-2\/\"><img class=\"wp-image-15096 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/6Ornica_1JPG.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"383\" height=\"287\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/en\/tema\/picnic-in-nature\/21-valle-inferno_-3-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14492\"><img class=\"wp-image-14492 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/21.VALLE-INFERNO_-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"297\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Valtorta<\/strong> is the last village in Valle Stabina. At the entrance to the village, you're welcomed by<strong> the Clock Tower<\/strong>, behind it stands the Pizzo dei Tre Signori, the highest mountain in the area. A visit to the church, at the beginning of the town, you greet the deer in the park located near the sports center and then enter the pine forest. You can choose how to continue our day: either you reach<strong> Torcole<\/strong> on foot (summer and winter by chairlift) to enjoy fantastic views of the Alta Val Brembana, or you head towards<strong> Mezzoldo.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/en\/gremei-8-2\/\"><img class=\"wp-image-16297 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/altobrembo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/gremei-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"416\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If you decide for the second choice, you reach the <strong>San Marco Pass<\/strong> to enjoy the view of the Valtellina Alps, with the Pizzo Bernina and the Pizzo Badile. A few steps lead you to discover the trenches of the Cadorna line, and some beautiful rock sculptures. You then descend to the alpin huts and discover the ancient Cantoniera house, with the Lion of Venice, testimony of the time when the Valley was under the dominion of the Serenissima and of the historical importance of these areas. Drive back to Mezzoldo where you get lost in the historic center, crossed by Via Priula, and discover the Antica Dogana.
